What do homeowners ask about Water Extraction?

Should I try to extract the water myself first?

Yes — get as much out as you can while you wait. A wet/dry shop vac, mop, and towels help. Stop using regular vacuums (electric shock risk). Pull furniture off the wet area if it is safe to do so. Do not lift wet rugs onto dry hardwood — you will spread the damage.

What is the difference between extraction and drying?

Extraction removes the bulk water — the standing water and most of what is in the carpet pad. Drying removes the rest of the moisture from materials and air, which takes 3 to 5 days with air movers and dehumidifiers running. Skipping the drying phase is the most common reason mold shows up two weeks later.

Is it covered by homeowners insurance?

If the cause is sudden and accidental — burst pipe, supply line failure, appliance malfunction — emergency water extraction is part of the covered mitigation scope. Flood water from outside (atmospheric river runoff, storm surge) requires a separate flood policy. We document the cause from minute one.

Do you work weekends and holidays?

Yes, 24/7/365. Atmospheric river weekends are our busiest, and we staff for them. Call as soon as you discover the loss — don't wait until Monday morning.

Melissa R. Water Damage Restoration · Carlsbad

Found mold behind the laundry-room baseboard during a remodel. They contained the area, set up scrubbers, removed the affected drywall, and brought in an independent tester for the clearance. Done right, no shortcuts.

David K. Mold Remediation · El Cajon

Slab leak under the kitchen. They worked alongside our plumber, dried the cabinets in place with InjectiDry, and saved us from gutting the whole kitchen. Daily moisture readings sent to our adjuster.
